The second hybrid Technical Training of the EAGLE Project took place at Tangaza University College in Nairobi, Kenya, from May 22 to 28, 2025.
The training was organized and led by the University of Nicosia (UNIC), aiming to build the capacities of academic and technical staff from partner universities in the use of Moodle and the development of e-learning courses.
The sessions were conducted in a hybrid format by Kyriakos E. Georgiou, Dr. Efi Nisiforou, Dr. Christos Anagiotos, Dr. Stella Kythreoti-Grimm, and Ms. Neophyta Paphiti from UNIC. The program was structured around four main modules:
- Introduction to e-learning and Moodle fundamentals.
- Design and development of e-learning courses, including practical workshops on course planning, learning objectives, and assessment methods.
- Use of interactive tools and adult education strategies to enhance virtual learning engagement.
- Administration and management of Moodle platforms, addressing technical configuration, data security, and system maintenance.
The training also included sessions on the Bologna Process and the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), and technical visits to the Open University of Kenya and African Nazarene University, offering participants insights into successful examples of digital education in Africa.
The event concluded with a collaborative hands-on workshop where attendees developed the initial structure of an e-learning course based on the concepts and tools learned throughout the week.
